This infrared laser thermometer is used for measuring the temperature of the object's surface, which is applicable for various hot, hazardous or hard-to-reach objects without contact safely and quickly. When taking measurements, it's crucial to consider the Distance to Spot Size ratio. As the distance (D) from the target surface increases, the spot size (S) measured by the unit becomes larger. The Distance to Spot Size ratio for this unit is 12:1. Ensure that the target is larger than the unit's spot size. The smaller the target, the closer the measuring distance should be. For critical accuracy, make sure the target is at least twice as large as the spot size.

Most organic materials and painted or oxidized surfaces have an emissivity of 0.95, which is pre-set in the unit. Inaccurate readings may result from measuring shiny or polished metal surfaces. To compensate, cover the target surface with masking tape or flat black paint. Measure the tape or painted surface when it reaches the same temperature as the material underneath.

Infrared technology allows you to measure various objects at home and outdoors. Use it for grills, griddles, cooking, vehicle engines, automotive applications, ovens, air conditioners, refrigerators, DIY projects, pets' environments, etc. Ensure that the emissivity setting matches the material of the object being tested during measurements. The instrument cannot penetrate glass or transparent surfaces; it measures only surface temperature. Test accuracy may be affected by steam, dust, or smoke.

Before usage, inspect the plastic housing, and do not use the instrument if it is damaged. Replace the battery promptly when the low battery icon is indicated. Avoid using the unit in the presence of explosive gas, vapor, or dust. The unit's efficiency may be compromised if used improperly. Take precautions against interference from arc welding machines, induction heaters, and electromagnetic fields. For high accuracy, let the thermometer stabilize for 10 minutes when moved to a new location before use. Keep the thermometer away from hot objects; do not place it on or near them. NEVER direct the laser beam towards the eyes, as it may cause permanent damage.

The digital infrared thermometer has an emissivity range of 0.1 to 1.0 for precise readings across different surfaces and conditions. High-quality sensors can be used to complete measurements in 0.8 seconds. The measurement accuracy is ± 2% or ± 2 °C, which is suitable for most daily life. Simply scan the surface of your object, hold down the trigger of the IR thermometer gun, and release to get live temperature readings anywhere between -58℉～1022℉(-50℃～550℃). The 12:1 D:S ratio allows for accurate measurements from a distance, making it safer to measure dangerous objects. The infrared temperature gun has a backlit LCD screen with a unit conversion feature (°F/°C) and an 10s auto-off function to extend the battery life. It is not suitable for human/internal body temperature use and is designed for repairs around the home, cooking, HVAC and automotive use, and other DIY jobs.
